cannot turn engine over

i have a blown engine. the crankshaft or connecting rods are broken and i cannot turn the engine over to extract the bolts from the flywheel to take out the engine what should i do? Any suggestions would be great. thank you.

Drop the pan.

Take the connecting rod caps off/ or take the nuts off of the connecting rod caps if the caps wont come off easily.

With a section of pipe, etc.

Beat the pistons upward in the cylinders (at least the ones that wont move) from the bottom side until they are free from the crank.

Maybe the crank will turn now.

Hey Paul,

I have run into this problem before, you can leave the torque converter bolts up and pull it out as a unit and then unbolt the converter once the engine is out.
