When I try to shift gears, it just will not let me put it into gear?

This issue mainly happens with 1st and 2nd gear. Also, when I’m stationary and put it in reverse it makes a crunching sound and won’t let me do this too. It doesn’t always do these problems just sometimes.

Hi,

Does it shift easily when the engine is off? If so, check the clutch fluid level. The clutch is operated hydraulically. It could be low on fluid, the clutch master cylinder could be failing, or the slave cylinder could be failing. The test is to see if it shifts easily with the engine off.

I apologize, but this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I don't have any specifics. However, what I described above is standard. On most vehicles, the clutch reservoir is normally mounted to the firewall under the hood. On some vehicles, the reservoir is actually the brake master cylinder.
