Cannot hook up battery terminal

Went to start my car turn key lights on all lights inside car on turn to start and nothing. Figured it was a loose terminal so I wiggled it and something started making a noise so I stopped. now when I go to hook up battery terminal it sparks can’t even hook it up.

Good morning,

This sounds like either the battery terminal is bad, that is corrosion on the terminal, or the battery itself is the issue.

I would clean the battery terminal ends and if that does not work, replace the battery.
