It is in the engine compartment.

I have looked in that location but do not see it. I can take a picture if that might help. Or I could post my VIN number. Maybe I do not have the correct trim?

I do not know if you are looking for the wrong part or not, but that is the Purge valve for that vehicle with that engine.

It's definitely the purge valve but I do not see it in that location. I've already purchased the new one so I know what it looks like and I don't see it. I'm new to this whole car thing so maybe I could post some pictures of my engine so you could see what I'm talking about?

Ok so I took pictures of what I think is the area in the diagram, the only part I've found that even looks close to the purge canister, and the new part I purchased in that order.

That is not a purge valve you are holding. That is a vent valve.
It looks exactly the same as the part in the diagram.

My mistake. That does look exactly like the diagram I gave you for the purge valve.

Now I just need to find it. Is it possible that this car doesn't have one with the 2.4l sohc engine?

If it's a US emissions car, it has one.
You should be able to follow the vapor line from the tank all the way up to the Purge valve.
