Transmission will not go into reverse after replacing engine

Hi, I recently changed the engine in it. I put an 1989 Firebird engine in it. everything works fine except it wont pull in reverse now. Can you help me out?

you may have not got the torque converter in all the way and partially broken the oil pump gears. if it goes forward it should go in reverse unless a clutch pak is destroyed as well . have a transmission professional take a look at it. he can do a pressure test on it.
