Due to a modification the IAT sensor was relocated about five inches. Can the IAT sensor wires be lengthened by that amount? I am concerned about resistance and if it will negatively affect the sensor readings.

What was the modification? Adding wire should not cause a problem as long as it is done properly.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I did a heater grid delete on a 6.7 Cummins. The new grid had the IAT mounted next to the head like previous years instead of on the outboard edge like the new OEM style. No issue there, except for the short wires. I did some artful harness rearranging, but I do not like it. Plan on soldering the connections and covering with shrink wrap. Thank you again for the reply.

For that it will not be a problem. You might want to grab a replacement off a scrap yard truck, that way you would only have one solder joint in the wire.

Thank you for using 2CarPros. Com.
