Truck shuts off while driving

I have to wait a few minutes before it will start, but only runs maybe 30-60 seconds.

When it will not start try banging on the fuel tank this can make the pump starter working again. This sounds like a fuel pump or the crankshaft angle sensor has gone out. When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?
