can one of the valves get bent and how much to fix it of it is the problem

Someone selling me the car and said they believe one of the valves is bent and wondering if it could be and what the cost to fix it?

Most definitely it could be. If the car broke a timing belt, the piston would have collided with numerous valves and done serious internal damage. This is a major problem and often results in replacing the engine.
