About a month ago my engine started misfiring, so I had a buddy who is a mechanic check it out and he told me it was the spark plugs so I got those replaced. 2 weeks later it starts misfiring again and the check engine light starts blinking so I took it to a shop to get diagnosed and they told me it's a bad ignition coil. I ordered the parts and got an ignition control module as well since it was a package deal.

We went ahead yesterday and replaced the coil pack along with the ICM and all seems well, the car runs fine. Today I'm driving and my check engine light turns on, so I take it to AutoZone and the code comes back P0341.

Report says the most likely solution is to replace the ICM which I already did but the code says Camshaft Position Senor?

Hi,

Is this code new since the new parts were installed? If they are, reinstall the original ICM. The ignition control module is the most common cause.

If you look below, I attached a page from my manual of possible causes for the code. Although the code is related to the camshaft position sensor performance, the most common cause is the ICM.

Let me know if you still have the original ICM and if this code came up after the ICM was replaced.

If you purchased the parts online, there is a chance it is faulty.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, the code came after I installed the new parts (coils, ICM). I went ahead and reinstalled the old ICM as instructed and drove about 13 miles today and the CEL still hasn't come back on. When I installed the new ICM it came on within probably 5 miles of driving.

Hi,

Let me know if those changes. However, if I had a nickel for every faulty part I've been seeing lately, I wouldn't have to play the megamillion. LOL

Let me know if things continue to work properly.

Take care,

Joe
