Is there more than one Camshaft sensor since the check engine light code said bank 1 sensor? I bought a new sensor. Going to clear the codes from the OBII scanner. What are the relearn procedures after installing the Camshaft sensor I also replaced the Crankshaft positioning sensor as well. When the car wouldn’t start after going to two different places, I scanned using the OBDII the crankshaft code was no longer there but that's when I saw the new code for the camshaft. I purchased with the camshaft a coolant temp sensor since the instrument panel was reading three different temperatures. I didn’t want the vehicle to overheat if it wasn’t going to turn on the fan since it wasn’t getting a proper reading. This all happened after I had put the housing back on to the transmission fixing the leak.

Hi,

On an inline 4-cylinder engine, there is only one bank, so don't worry about that. However, there are two different camshaft position sensors. One is for the exhaust cam and one is for the intake cam. See pic below

Have you confirmed which one needs to be replaced? If you are not sure, let me know what code you have so I can make that determination for you.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

The two codes are not related. The P0341 is related to the intake camshaft position sensor.

DTC P0341
- Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance

DTC P0502
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit Low Voltage

I attached a pic below of the intake camshaft position sensor location. Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Yep, on the diagram #7 is what I replaced. But what are the relearn procedures for the crankshaft positioning and camshaft position sensor procedures?

I replaced the speed sensor, and my speedometer hasn’t moved. But at least the car starts... It takes three times to do it.

But now the car won’t start again but I don’t hear the fuel pump pressurizing. Because of the way it sounded when it tried starting. One to find is I have WD-40 on me, and I can spray it in the throttle body. To see if it starts and if it shuts off then it's the fuel pump.

Hi,

Have you checked the fuel pressure? If you are not hearing the pump, that may be the issue. Also, if you have carb cleaner or starting fluid, it would work much better than WD40. I'm not sure if WD40 would work, but anything is possible.

Here is a link that explains how to test fuel pressure:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

You will need a pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend one to you. Also, I attached the manufacturer's pressure specifications below for you.

Try this and let me know the results.

Take care,

joe
