Camshaft position sensor error

Vehicle would not start, rpm's intermittent revved up while driving. All kinds of light on dash came on. Got a P0345 error on my computer. Replaced camshaft position sensor on bank 2. No problems for three weeks. Today it was very warm. On way home from work. Car shut off while sitting at light. Hard start but started. Driving home similar symptoms as before. Not much power, rpm's revved up occasionally. No check engine light. Got home hooked up computer. Pending code was same. P0345. Original code was erased after sensor replacement. I pulled out camshaft sensor after car cooled. Wiped oil off and reinstalled. Car started right up, wires looked okay, connectors looked okay. What could be the problem? I have an hour drive from work. I do not want my car shutting off while I am on the highway or a lot of back roads with no pull offs.
