Good afternoon. I am working on replacing my head gasket on my car. I am looking for the "Camshaft Alignment Tool" that goes on the back of the cylinder head before removal. Can you tell me if you carry this item as a rental. Also, I understand that this tool is necessary for reassembly to maintain the engine timing. However, I do plan to take the camshafts out the head. Is it necessary to have them in place to remove the head?

Hey GARY,

Yes this is a big job, I wold mark everything I could using a small punch for reference, start with the engine on TDC though the book shows it at 45 degrees. I found these images for you they look a little cumbersome but may help. Let me know if you need anything else.

Best, Ken
