Cam phaser

Driver side cam phaser is defective, we have ordered aftermarket one from Rock Auto and it came in as different size style and dimension. then decided to order another one with the VIN number from the dealer and it came in the same way as the aftermarket one from Rock Auto. we are scratching our heads on what to do.

It is very possible that the new part is an updated part made to fit and perform better than the original. I would count the teeth on the sprocket and test fit it. If the tooth count is the same and it fits that is likely the case.
