2003 Cadillac STS V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the dash has a gap between the top and wood trim and is getting worse

The upper padding can separate from the plastic backing. I have repaired them using clamps and adhesive, under the premise that if it turned out unsatisfactory, replacement would be the only resolution.
