1998 Cadillac STS Air Bag Sensor

1998 Cadillac STS Automatic

The air bag light came on for no apparent reason - the airbags were not deployed and we were not in an accident. What could cause this and how do we fix it? If we get a new sensor or reset the one we already have, will the light just come on again since there may be a problem with part of the air bag system?

System is self diagnostic so have codes read will tell what fault is.
