1997 Cadillac STS engine and parts swap

1997 Cadillac STS V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 97 sts with a overheated engine and week suspention. will a 97 eldordo work for parts? the vin engine 9 is the same. my haynes manual is for seville 92-04 and deville 94-05, not eldrado. apx 160 000km on eldorado. i will replace head gaskets is there anything else i might need to know that would help. i know the egine drops out. thanks 4 your help i really appreaciate it. your site is very informative and helpfull. thanks again. jim

You are going to be putting thread inserts in the block that require some special tools. It is the threads in the block that caused the gaskets to fail. The engine hard parts from 97 Eldo to 97 STS should work, as far as suspension parts, I can't guarantee.
