1992 Cadillac STS My battery wont hold a charge

1992 Cadillac STS V8 Automatic

i just bought a brand new car battery, and i made sure i got the correct one... and i'll let my car run f0r a while so the alternator can charge it..but i come out to start my car the next day and it wont even turn over... i read my displayy nd it said my battery only had 10.8 volts.... is the problem with my alternator??

Not likely car has battery drain some circuit is on when key off.
