my air is blowing cold air most of the time . then it will stop blowing all together all except the backseat vent still blows. i turn the heat on and it wont blow either. but the back seat will blow. then out of the blue it will start working again. can you give me a clue what i need to do and how expensive is this problem. I presume it is the blower going out but i am just taking a guess.

It sounds like a blower, and a check of power and ground at the blower would confirm it. It is under the rh side of the dash, visible after the insulator is removed. It has a separate blower motor for the rear.

I have a 1994 SLS with the exact problem. It would run then all of the sudden stop blowing in the front only. It was the connector that was bad at the connection of the blower behind the engine near the firewall. If you wiggle it, it will come back on for awhile. If you disconnect the plug, see if its melted any part of the plug connector. If it is, you need to replace the connector. If that happens again, then you need to replace the blower motor and connector because the blower motor is grounding out. The excessive heat will melt that plug easily Good Luck
