when the car is cold it blows white smoke until warmed up. it was burning a bit of oil and antifreeze. service engine soon light is on. serviced recently and i was told it withstood a presure treatment and they changed the plugs. service light went out and it stopped smoking for a few weeks. condition is now back. the water pump was replaced a year ago becuase of similar conditions and over heating. it does not over heat now.

I would have the cooling system tested for the presence of combustion gases. Chances are you have an internal leak from headgasket, or pulled head bolt threads.
