2001 Cadillac Seville Gas guage

For some reason when i turn on my car the gas guage reads the correct amount of gas inside of the car but i i drive the needle jumps around to half a tank then it jumps to full and it stays at full. What would cause this?

Odds are a faulty fuel sender resistor card, or loose/worn float arm contacting the resistor card.
