I am 20 and have purchased my first vehicle. I bought a 2000 Cadilac Seville. The problem was my engine light kept coming on because my egine was over heating. I went to a neighborhood mechanic to fix the problem and he suggested to get a new thermostat and I did. Every thing ran perfectly for a few days untill today. On my way to work, my engine started overheating again. Now what? What the heck is wrong with my car?

Hello,

Ok, so you have changed the Thermostat. Is engine light still on? If so go by your local auto parts store and ask them to pull codes. Post them here.

Possible cause of over heating.....

Engine Coolant Sensor - Controls the cooling fans - turns it on and off when reached specified temp.

Cooling fan - Motor has gone bad or relay has gone bad.

Bad Radiator or Blown Head Gasket.
