HOW DO YOU REMOVE SHIFTER KNOB FROM SHIFTER...WHAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE

On a 97 floor shift, in the front of the knob there is a little slit. In that slit is a little u-clip that can be pried out releasing the knob.
