1994 Cadillac Seville heater core problems

Heater problem
1994 Cadillac Seville V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 185K miles

for the last week the heat went out again even after I replaced the theromstat just last night i had anti freeze puddel in the passenger side floor so Ive come to the conclusion that it the heater core . now my main problem. i need to know if I can fix rather replace the heater core at home with above average knowledge, tools and knack auto repair my next qusetion can there be anyother problem im over looking that might cause such problems.

You should be able to do it. Remove glove box, lower plastic shield, remove controller and there is a cover to take off and the heater core is right there.Remove the hoses and pull it out.
