1976 Cadillac Seville Loosing transmission fluid

I'm using 2 qtrs of transmission fluid every 3 days or so but there isn't any sign of it leaking out. My car smoke when I start it after it has been sitting and the smoke is not a steady stream of steam like a blown head gasket.

Shift modulator diaphram torn sucking fluid into intake. Jack up on pass side rear of trans see small can with line attached? remove if fluid present replace.
