2000 Other Cadillac Models wont start; fuel problem?

i have a 2000 escalade. i was driving when it sudden ly boggs down and dies. i've been having problems for about a month now. if it sits over nights or for an extended time frame it will be hard to start. i can hear the pump wind up when i turn key on. i'm running out of ideas , can you hear me?

try turning the key on for 5 secs then off, then on for 5 secs and off then on for 5 secs and off, then crank it if it fires up you probably have a bad fuel pressure regulator.
