I have a 68 cadillac hearse its in great running shap about a year ago we were in a parade and went to back up and had no reverse so we checked the fluid and it was fine we just pulled the tranny out and started to take it apart everything look almost new in the tranny the bands have a litt wear in them but it seems to be good when the tranny was in the motor would bog down like it was in reverse but didnt go anywere do you have any suggestions

that has a thm400 trans in it and the seals for the reverse clutch are porbably hard and need replacing. time for a rebuild.....
