1992 Cadillac Fleetwood hood problems

I've been trying to get my hood open but it seems like some thing broke loose at the end of the cable inside the hood because when i go to pull the hood latch its loose, and i tryed pulling harder on it but it wont open. its time for me to change the oil and i can't get to it!

try to go through the grill or underneath with a long screwdriver to the latch
