Brakes problem
1990 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I was driving down the highway and tried to slow down and I noticed that the brakes were not slowing me down. I pushed the pedal and it was very hard to push down. it did not go to the floor it went about half-way down as if something was stoping if from going any further. What could this be and is it worth me fixing?

Either the booster or master cylinder. And yes if life is of value to you fix brakes. And for the sake of innocent people wherever you drive.
