Trying to find out how many subsystems my 03 Escalade has. Typical systems are:

Cranking & Charging System
Emission Control Systems
Engine Cooling System
Engine Air/Fuel Controls
Exhaust System
Ignition System
Speed Control System
Transaxle Controls

Which do I have and can a typical scan tool that Autozone uses for MIL alerts communicate with the other subsystems?

the type of scanners auto zone uses can only detect engine sensor problems. the type that is found in service centers can check your ABS system, trasnmission systems. It can also work on bdy control modules which controls alot of stuff inside the car.
