2002 Cadillac Escalade V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When i shift the gear it shift but would not engaged and produced a loud sound?

If it has no forward or reverse gears, and the cable is making shifts, it could possibly be a fault in the transfer case, or even the transmission. If you can isolate where the noise is coming from, or perhaps drain the fluid, you might find some evidence. I would drain the transfer case first, and if you find no sign, remove the trans pan.
