I have a 2000 Escalade, while driving it will suddenly jerk to the right (or left) and I have to stear opposite the jerk to keep from crashing (God forbid I overcompensate). Whatever is happening I can also feel it in the steering wheel especially when I am going around a curve. It feel like I have no control during this jerk, like a gap or slack or miss in the steering. My tires, tyrods, balljoints have been repaired/replaced and the problem still exist. I thought it might be associated with the 2 wheel drive gear (it is always in 2-wheel drive gear). What could it be?

I had a 1998 chevy tahoe that had the same problem. Its the steering sensor. I had my repair at the dealer for $175. Hope this helps.
