Is the noise present with vehicle speed, or engine speed, and does it change or remain a constant ring? The only thing that comes to mind at this point is the fuel pump. You may even hear it briefly when keyed up prior to starting. Pretty common on C/K trucks, does not necessarily indicate failing.
