1992 Cadillac El Dorado AC not working

I put freon in and the compressor will kick on and off and the dash will say freon level is very low. Then it will say cimpresor is off. The gauge says the freon is at max. Is there a senor that may be feeding the computer the wrong info?

When you turn the AC On do you hear the clutch engage the compressor? If not check the high and low pressures start here.

Yes, the clutch does come on but them it will kick off.

Check and test the low pressure switch and the AC clutch relay
