1984 Cadillac El Dorado no start

1984 Cadillac El Dorado V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i recently broke a belt on my cadillac, i was able to drive it home. I replaced the belt and now cannot start the vehicle. It cranks but will not turn over. What is the most likely problem, or any specifics i should check?

I have an 86 and had that same problem. It turned out to be a worn out gear at the bottom of the distributor. I have only 65,000 miles on my Cat. How about you?
