Recently, my '97 deville (4.6L, 116k mi.) has experienced the oil pressure light flickering and coming on after the engine is up to operating temperature when I am stopped and idling at lights or stop signs. By putting in neutral and reving slightly, it goes off. This is a new occurence. Could it be the oil pressure sending unit or the oil pump itself starting to crap out?
It still runs and drives great. :?:

If you get a test gauge you can screw it in were the sending unit is, this will tell you for sure, but if the pressure is low it could be the pump, or bearings.
You could try a heavier oil, SAE non detergent 30 wieght.
