2001 Cadillac Deville start up

when I start the car fires up then dies...When I give it gas its fine, but as soon as I lift off of the gas pedal the car dies, even while driving...also it has been having some problems starting up as well...like its dead

Check and make sure there is no vacuum leaks, and that there are no leaks in the induction piping aftr the mass airflow sensor.
