2001 Cadillac Deville message center

My message center tells me to check engine coolant but the recovery tank is full. Heater doesn't seem to be working correctly but engine does not overheat.
Any suggestions?

If your coolant level light is on, and the reservoir is full, then the sensor in the reservoir is faulty. You can disconnect it on the bottom side of the reservoir and the light should go out. The sensor is part of the reservoir.
