Rotational like when the vehicle is in motion, when backing up and braking? Under what specific conditions does the thump occur?

I have the same problem. I have taken my 01 Cadillac Dev to be service twice. This time I was told that the rear shocks are making the noise. The bushings in the air ride shocks are sticking. Approx $600. Also attempting to verify with questions.
