2000 Cadillac Deville

I was driving my car about 5mph on clear dry roads but in cold weather (29 degrees F)and all of a sudden the stability system engaged and continued to engage itself as I tried to drive. Like stop and go..etc.
I clicked the Traction engage button "off" and then I was able to drive home (short distance of less than a mile) the service light is telling me "Service Stability System" .

What can be causing this and approx repair costs???

Thank you.

Sounds like possible wheel speed sensor. It set a code if the messaged appeared, needs to have some diagnosis.
