Noises problem
2000 Cadillac Deville V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 121k miles

Intermittent loud noise, seems to be coming from drivers front. CV boot was leaking so I replaced axle, turned rotors while there. No change. Only occurs after 15 - 20 miles of driving, very loud (louder than normal cv click) slight change of tone when turning a little. Slight feel in steering wheel. Will quit doing it after driving a while. No pattern. Sometimes almost sounds like in behind dash. Speeds and slows with car speed. Can not duplicate jacked up. Hub bearing seems good, no noise when checked.

The fact that it changes with steering, makes it sound like a hub. I know you said they seem o.K. It could be a bad spot in one of the ball bearings that comes and goes. Often times these won't make noise when unloaded. If you are eager to find a solution, or try to make a change, you can swap the bearings from side to side. I would reference, and keep the rotors with the hubs, or you might induce pulsation in the brakes. Otherwise, to diagnose it when it happens dynamically, you would need something like a chassis ear, a tool with remote transmitters that can be secured to multiple areas of the vehicle and transmit to a selector box in the vehicle.
