2000 Cadillac Deville airbag light has come on

the airbag light just came on. the information center says check airbags? Do I need to park the car immediately or is it drivable through the weekend. Does this mean that the airbag might deploy or that if in an accident it may not work properly?

It usually disables the system when there is a fault, other than that it's driveable.
