Electrical problem
1999 Cadillac Deville V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 158K miles

My highbeams do not stay on. Mechanic replaced the dimmer switch. Then he discovered two relays sparking and hot under the hood. Replaced them and discovered the Mirror fuse burned out. Now the highbeams work at night (twilight) but do not work with the pullout switch. Is the headlight switch bad? What could make all these burn out at once?

If you have the twilight function enabled and are in daylight, the lights are in DRL, therefore the high beams will not latch. If you pull the stalk fully out, the high beams should latch under any light condition, as with twilight enabled under low light conditions.
