1998 Cadillac Deville ruff idle /use little water

Engine Performance problem
1998 Cadillac Deville V8 Front Wheel Drive

1998 cadi with 140000 miles on start up after setting idles ruff but will smooth out after driving a short distance. now it shows signs of water leak with no visible signs, none in oil, no smoke , none in trans.other than that car runs great no engine problems can anyone shed some insight

First thought is: coolant leaking into a cylinder and temporarily fouling a plug. This could explain your coolant loss. Being you have 15lbs coolant pressure max, and 100 plus lbs compression, you should be getting exhaust gases into the cooling system. There are kits available to test for exhaust in coolant. You may want to check this out. Hope this helps and good luck.
