1998 Cadillac Deville Remote mal-function

My remote will not open my trunk. It will still unlock and lock the doors, though.

When I push the trunk button, I get nothing, not even clicking.

I tried my spare remote, with the same results.

Check to see if Valet switch is on located in glovebox

I looked at it to make sure it was off. Could the contact for that button be dirty or corroaded.

possible causes
valet switch
Body Control Module
relay
solenoid
open trunk disconnect solenoid trem. put test light to term.A black/white wire operate remote if it lights solenoid is faulty.
