1997 Cadillac Deville Oil Pressure Light

Recently purchased from used Lexus car lot. Car in prestine condiition except for Oil Pressure light coming on. Light appears and blinks (does not stay on) when car has reached temperature and is in idle condition. Performing an oil change and replacing the oil pressure switch did not resolve the problem. My mechanic believes it could be bad bearings in the oil pump. Repair is expensive. Any suggestions?

from an oil pump to a new crank shaft and bearings, to a new motor. not to waste time and money I would go with the engine
