1996 Cadillac Deville brake lights not working

when i put my car in gear, the brake lights do not work. I have replaced the blubs, no luck. i had someone look at it, blubs have been replaced, they were not sure what could be the problem, the believe to could be a short somewhere. can you please help.

inspect brake lamp switch, located on brake pedal arm below driver side dash.
