when i was driving in my car when i was going about 45 the car just started reving up and not going anywhere. when i put it in 1 and 3 gear it worked fine but as soon as i shifted back into drive the car would just rev up and the transmission light is on

It sounds like there is a problem with a trans sensor. You will need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. NOTE: Most nationally recognized parts stores will scan it for free.
