My trunk latch has an epoxy faceplate that someone stole recently. I have purchased a replacement swivel latch, but can't get the old one off. Please help! I don't even know who to go to if I were to try to have this replaced professionally.
Thank you.

I bought the whole assembly. Wouldn't a heat gun just remove the epoxy plate? The plastic clips are preventing me from removing the entire thing. I am afraid I will disconnect something or break something if I remove the plastic clips. I am confused.

No. The clips have wire running through them. Not sure what they are connected to-I don't know if they control the self close mech. Or lights?
