1990 Cadillac Deville torque converter clutch solonoid repl

my 90 deville has an E39 trouble code. and it turns out to be the torque conv. solonoid. i see the part is only about 40.00. but,,what is involved in replacing it?
can i get to it by removing the pan?

take it to a trans shop, there are other probs
