Car has started to start hard and the smell of gas is always there stopped or driving.

Look for any leaks around the tank or engine.If no external leaks the system may be running rich and it would need the computer scanned to see if it recorded any sensor failures.A bad o2 sensor or MAP sensor can make them run very rich
